Default [for the devs] Idea for Soul Reaping

Alright, I read that the devs were trying to come up with a way to improve soul reaping without changing it back to defualt...well I have an idea.

Currently you only get soul reaping every 5 seconds...which has alot of people up in arms. Heres my idea:

Lets say you are fighting a group of 5 enemies. They all die within the 5 second rule so you only get energy for one, but with my idea what would happen is you get the full ammount of energy for the first enemy killed, then the enemy that counts as the second kill gives you less energy and so on...and every 5-10ish seconds it will renew, starting from the full ammount of energy recieved.

The necro would still recieve half energy from spirits and etc just instead of only getting energy every 5 seconds you just get less and less energy until the counter is renewed.

This is just an idea so please don't flame...it doesn't get us anywhere.

not a bad idea. But would it be hard to make work?

me and my guildies have been discussing SR since the nerf and one of the best ideas we have had is take it back to the way it was but NO energy at all for spirits. Only creatures and minions count.

There is a other thread that states a good alternative: energy regen.

Most necromancer energy regn skills give energy to other ally, so that would fit the Necromancer. You get your own regen from deaths, you give regen with your life.

The change would be to give a certain amount of regen during a certain amout of seconds, depending any or both on the Soul Reaping attribute.

Each regen 'pip' gives 1 energy point every 3 seconds.
So 3 pips would be 1 energy per second, and 9 pips 3 energy per second...
14 energy/5 seconds=2.8e/s

So with a change to 'regen' it would not matter how many deaths are happening, only that there are deaths, and your rank in Soul Reaping, yet the energy gained would be limited, since regen has an inherent limit of 10 pips.

The only downside of regen is that you will never see necromancers gaining energy in outposts, like at D'Allesio or in Halloween.

@ mithran, that is also a good idea although I still dont understand how the regen would come into effect and how long it would stay with the necro. Could you post the link? Simply because there is so much on Soul Reaping that a simple search will be tough to sift through.

hmmmm good idea onthe regen skill, make a soul reaping skill like Blood Ritual but make it for the CASTER only, could even make it an elite, or 2 forms of it, say simple skill be 1 regen for every 4 points in sr, and elite be 1 pip for every 2 skill points in SR. making a plus of 8 pips but if at 8 pips, maybe make it an expensive skill, maybe that 25 energy cost, so maybe you dont want it, but has to overcome the cost or it isnt worth making of course.

or like a monks enchants, as long as keeping active your losing the one pip, but gaining more pips from the skill ?

has anythin thought of the monk enchants that give energy to caster everytime they hit something ? think thats about the same, but make it in Soul Reaping and have the regen, cant really do one per minions hit, if have like 10 that be to strong also, but, then they do hit VERY slow.

dont know, dont LIKE the new nerf at all, and been wracking my noggin trying to make a energy conservitive MM, not thier yet hehe.
